MKP5 (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Phosphatase 5) is a dual-specificity phosphatase that plays a role in regulating MAPK signaling pathways, which are critical in various cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.

MKP5 is generally downregulated in various cancers, and its low expression is often associated with poor prognosis and protumorigenic effects.
