Function: JHDM1D-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA induced by nutrient starvation and other tumor-microenvironment stresses. It regulates gene expression through interactions with proteins and microRNAs and can influence angiogenesis, inflammation, proliferation, invasion, metastasis, and metabolic adaptation.

Cancer: ↑ Frequently upregulated in cancer and predominantly functions as an oncogenic lncRNA. Increased JHDM1D-AS1 promotes tumor growth, angiogenesis, macrophage infiltration, proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastasis. Reported mechanisms include stabilization of DHX15, activation of the miR-940/ARTN axis, regulation of the miR-193b-3p/HPRT1 axis, and increased expression of angiogenic and inflammatory factors. High JHDM1D-AS1 expression is associated with aggressive disease and poor prognosis in several cancer types.
