LC3A is one of the isoforms of the LC3 family and plays a critical role in the autophagy pathway.
– Enhanced Autophagy and Tumor Survival: In some cancers, increased LC3A expression (and therefore autophagic activity) is associated with a cytoprotective response, helping tumor cells survive under stress conditions such as hypoxia, nutrient deprivation, or treatment-induced damage. This has been linked in some cases to more aggressive tumor behavior and resistance to therapies.
