Oleocanthal / Apoptosis Cancer Research Results

OLEC, Oleocanthal: Click to Expand ⟱
Features:
Oleocanthal is a phenolic compound found ONLY in extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO).
It has strong anti-inflammatory activity (similar to ibuprofen-like COX inhibition).
In multiple cell and animal studies, it:
-selectively induces lysosomal membrane permeabilization in cancer cells, leading to rapid cell death
-inhibits tumor proliferation and metastasis pathways
-reduces HER2 signaling
-slows colorectal, breast, and prostate cancer progression in models

It has indirect CSC targeting

Not available as a supplement
-it is unstable outside the oil.
-some companies sell high-oleocanthal EVOO

Type: type of cell death
Situation in which a cell actively pursues a course toward death upon receiving certain stimuli.
Cancer is one of the scenarios where too little apoptosis occurs, resulting in malignant cells that will not die.
