Neurog1 is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor known primarily for its role in neuronal differentiation.
• In neuroblastoma and certain CNS tumors like gliomas and medulloblastomas, higher expression of neural differentiation markers—including Neurog1—can sometimes hint at a more differentiated (and potentially less aggressive) tumor phenotype, but this is not universal.
