IL-9 (Interleukin-9) is a cytokine. IL-9 is primarily produced by T helper 9 (Th9) cells, a subset of CD4+ T cells.

IL-9's role in cancer including:
• Promotion of cell proliferation and survival
• Inhibition of apoptosis (programmed cell death)
• Enhancement of angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels)
• Modulation of the tumor microenvironment

IL-9 has also been shown to have anti-tumor effects in certain contexts, such as:
• Induction of anti-tumor immune responses
• Inhibition of tumor growth and metastasis
