IRAK4, interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4: Click to Expand ⟱
Source:
Type:
IRAK4 (interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in mediating signaling downstream of toll-like receptors (TLRs) and interleukin-1 receptors (IL-1Rs). Given its involvement in innate immune signaling and the inflammatory response, aberrations in IRAK4 expression or activity can influence oncogenic processes.

In hematological malignancies, particularly lymphomas and certain leukemias, increased IRAK4 expression and activity have been observed and are linked to sustained inflammatory signaling, contributing to aggressive disease features and poorer outcomes.

• In solid tumors, while data remain more heterogeneous, elevated IRAK4 levels in some cancers correlate with increased inflammation, tumor progression, and resistance to therapy.
