| NXA7 belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins. – It is involved in membrane trafficking, exocytosis, and cellular signal transduction. – Its functions also extend to maintaining membrane integrity and participating in the regulation of intracellular calcium levels. – Studies have shown that ANXA7 can function as a tumor suppressor in certain contexts, where its expression is reduced in tumors relative to normal tissue. – In several tumor types, particularly prostate, breast, and glioblastoma, lower ANXA7 expression has been associated with a more aggressive tumor phenotype and poorer overall prognosis. – Loss or reduced expression of ANXA7 may correlate with advanced disease stage, higher rates of recurrence, and decreased survival. |
