| GATA3 is often considered a key player in breast cancer biology. It is frequently expressed in luminal subtype breast cancers and is associated with a better prognosis. GATA3 acts as a tumor suppressor. Its expression can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and promote differentiation, which is often lost in cancerous cells. GATA3 is known to regulate the expression of estrogen receptors (ER), which are critical in the development and progression of ER-positive breast cancers. GATA3 is an important transcription factor with varying roles in different cancers. In breast cancer, it is generally associated with a favorable prognosis, while its role in other cancers can be more complex. |
