| Brahma-related gene 1, also known as SMARCA4. BRG1 is one of two catalytic subunits of the SWI/SNF ATP-dependent chromatin-remodeling complex. In cancer, it has been hypothesized that BRG1 acts as a tumor suppressor. BRG1 is often found to be mutated or downregulated in cancer (NSCLC). Loss of BRG1 expression is associated with poor prognosis and may contribute to tumor progression. BRG1 serves as a potential biomarker for prognosis in various cancers, but its role can be context-dependent. |
