| DLC1, or deleted in liver cancer 1, is a tumor suppressor gene that is frequently lost or mutated in HCC. DLC1 is a gene that encodes a protein called Rho GTPase-activating protein 54 (RhoGAP54), which plays a role in regulating cell growth and division. DLC1 has been correlated with poor prognosis. Low levels of DLC1 expression are often associated with increased tumor size, higher rates of metastasis, and shorter overall survival rates. Conversely, higher expression levels of DLC1 may indicate a better prognosis and could be linked to a more favorable response to treatment. |
