Type:
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) MEG3 (Maternally Expressed Gene 3) is a tumor suppressor gene that has been implicated in various types of cancer. MEG3 is a large, non-coding RNA molecule that is normally expressed in many tissues, but its expression is often reduced or lost in cancer cells.

Studies have shown that MEG3 plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth, apoptosis (programmed cell death), and angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels). MEG3 has been shown to inhibit the expression of oncogenes (genes that promote cancer) and to induce the expression of tumor suppressor genes.

In cancer, the downregulation of MEG3 has been associated with increased cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis.
Loss of expression: Breast, lung, liver, CRC, prostate, ovarian, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, thyroid, cervical, bladder, RCC.
