miR-141 is a member of the microRNA-200 family, which is involved in the regulation of various cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). As a non-coding RNA, miR-141 regulates gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by binding to specific target messenger RNAs (mRNAs).

miR-141 plays a role in the regulation of EMT by targeting key transcription factors or other EMT-related genes. Its regulation can thus indirectly influence cell adhesion, migration, and invasion.

Both upregulation and downregulation of miR-141 have been reported, with its expression pattern often being context-dependent and linked to the stage and molecular subtype of the tumor.
